I'm pretty sure GW isn't owned by a Japanese company but a Korean company. ANet is a subsidiary of NCSoft, and I'm pretty sure they are based in Korea.

He thought that GW was made by a japanese company that didn't release their game in Japan itself and that that would be something funny, not that GW was the first online-game not to appear initially in Japan. That's the difference.

They are a Korean COmpany.
Their HQs are in Seoul, South Korea. You can check at ncsoft.com
Korea eats up MMOs because alot of them are made in Korea.....And guess by who.
